Dr. Khan is the Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Central Michigan University College of Medicine and serves as Director of Residency Training and Inpatient Adult & Geriatric Psychiatric Services at CMU Health. Dr. Khan is a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and an Associate of the Academy of Educators at the College of Medicine. Dr. Khan has special interest in resident education and has developed several educational curricula for trainees. He is recipient of several Excellence in Teaching Awards and has mentored numerous residents and medical students.

His areas of interest also include psychopharmacology, aging, neurocognitive impairments and movement disorders. He is one of the founders of the first and only geriatric psychiatric inpatient program locally. He completed his clinical fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons in New York and residency in Psychiatry at St. Mary Mercy Hospital in Livonia, MI. Dr. Khan’s research experience include his work as research scientist at postdoctoral level at Aging & Dementia Research Center of New York University School of Medicine.  Dr. Khan obtained his medical degree at Khyber Medical University in Peshawar, Pakistan.  He is board certified in psychiatry and geriatric psychiatry by American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology.
